The Rosalie Coopman Music Foundation was established in 2022 to support the practice of musical composition. We aim to encourage younger (those under 25) and older (over 40 years-of -age) composers. In 2024 we agreed a partnership with the Trinity Laban Conservatoire in Greenwich, London. Our partnership allows us to support students of composition, while collaborating in the offer of an Award for composition by over 40s, unlike almost all other composition competitions.
40PLUS COMPOSITION COMPETITION 2026
Unlike almost all other composition competitions this one celebrates composers who are over 40 years of age. Rosalie herself returned to composing in later life and produced her most vibrant work. This competition celebrates lifelong development of composers and provides a rare opportunity to have a piece professionally rehearsed, performed and recorded.
There will be a composition award and two honorary mentions.
The winning composition will be performed by the Rosalie Ensemble at the world-renown Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in Greenwich London during the spring/summer concert season. The winner will be awarded £ 2,000 and both honorary mentions will receive a certificate and a recorded play-through of their works.
The call for works opens on 1st November 2025. If you are interested, please go to our How to Apply page.
